| dc.description.abstract | This research is based on the idea that office layout is a determination of space requirements and a practical arrangement of practical factors that are considered necessary for the implementation of office work at a reasonable cost. In other words, the meaning of office layout can also be expressed as the arrangement and arrangement of all office machines in the right place, so that employees can work easily, comfortably, and are free to move so that efficiency is achieved. Therefore, this study aims to describe how the management of office space in the Secretariat at the Office of the Library and Archives of North Sumatra Province. The theory used to analyze the spatial management problem is about the arrangement of the furniture and the model of the room used. The research was conducted at the Office of the Library and Archives of North Sumatra Province. The research approach used is a qualitative approach. The research results obtained and at the same time become the conclusions of this study, among others, that it is necessary to manage office space to facilitate work effectiveness, so that it can provide comfort in working for employees. Therefore, at the Office of the Library and Archives of North Sumatra Province, the physical location or spatial layout where people work has an influence on productivity and attitudes among employees.
