dc.description.abstract In writing this thesis, the author examines the icon,index and symbol and to find out the meanings of icon, index and symbol in commercial boards in Medan city.The data used in this research are six beauty products commercial boards which method is descriptive qualitative.The researcher uses the theory of Carles Saunder Pierce namely Triadic Semiosis and color theory according to Caivano. The author found that beauty product commercial boards had a semiotic sign in the form visual and verbal signs through object is icon,index and symbol. en_US
