This research is based on the idea that the main waste bank program at the environment and forestry service of North Sumatra Province has an important role and function in improving the state of the environment. This program cannot carry out activities well without support from public relations because services have a special role and strategy in achieving goals. Therefore, this research aims to describe how public relations is applied in introducing and improving services. The theory used to analyze problems regarding the application of these functions and roles is about public relations.
This research was conducted at the environment and forestry service of North Sumatra Province, specifically at the main waste bank program agency. The approach taken is a qualitative approach. The research results obtained and also the conclusions include that public relations plays a very important role in efforts to introduce the main waste bank program to the community and improve services in order to expedite the main waste bank program.
