dc.description.abstract The sense of sight is an important part for humans so they can carry out daily activities well, living with limited vision is not easy and requires many processes to adapt, one example is a person who has an accident that causes blindness or a person who has a disease that causes blindness. Blind people will find it difficult to just walk and carry out activities both indoors and outdoors, therefore we need assistive devices that are usually used by blind people to walk, one of which is a cane. A cane as a tool when walking in carrying out daily activities. Currently, a blind cane device has been created using a microcontroller-based ultrasonic and GPS(Global Positioning System) sensor that can detect obstacles around the user. In designing the system, the Arduino Uno microcontroller is used as a controller, three ultrasonic sensors and a 5V DC buzzer output. The detectable range of the blind stick is ± 150cm of obstacles in front of the ultrasonic sensor, if the obstacle exceeds 150cm then the buzzer will not sound or not detect the obstacle Keywords: Blind stick, Arduino Uno, buzzer, HS-SR04 ultrasonic, GPS (Global Positioning System) en_US
