Archive management is one of the important tasks of an organisation, because with good archive management the data and documents stored in certain places will be easily retrieved if needed at any time. The benefits of archives for an organisation include containing information that is useful in making decisions and can also be used as evidence in the event of a problem and can be used as a management accountability tool. Archives can be optimally useful for organisations if they are managed in an orderly and regular manner, but on the contrary, if archives are managed in an unruly manner, it will cause problems for an organisation. Poor archive management in an office will make it difficult to find information that has been stored and can ultimately hinder the next stage of the work process. The data used by the author in this research is primary data. Primary data in this study are the results of direct observations or observations made by the author at the research site and interviews with staff who work at the author's research site.
The office storage system uses the principles of centralisation and decentralisation to facilitate archive management, and is assisted by recording in the agenda book. The implementation of archive management in the Office and General Section still uses a manual system so that file security can be maintained properly. The archive storage system in the Office and General Section uses a date system (chronological system) namely a letter storage system based on the date the letter is received on incoming mail and the date the letter is sent on outgoing mail. The archive storage system in the office has been running well, it's just that there are still many files piled up on the table, due to the unavailability of sufficient archive shelves, and the absence of special archive officers so that the preparation of archives is often neglected | en_US |
