Sumedang ABC Tofu Factory industry engaged in the production of tofu and tempeh. This factory is located in Kota Binjai, North Sumatra. There are 6 workers for making tofu 2 and 3 workers for making tempeh. In 2022 there is a demand for tofu and tempeh that cannot be met by factories. One of the contributing factors is the high level of workload experienced by operators. yThere is a Sumedang ABC Tofu Factory work station that experiences an imbalance between the workload and the number of workers, causing fatigue and high pulse. The purpose of this study was to determine the workload received by workers and to determine the optimal number of workers in the tofu 2 and tempe factories. Based on the results of Cardiovascular Load (%CVL) calculations, there are workers who have %CVL values > 30%, namely operators 1, 2, and 3 of 37.6%, 32.7%, and 34% for tofu factory 2 and worker 1 of 34.5% for the tempe factory. Then calculate the number of workers based on workload using Workload Analysis (WLA). In calculating the needs of workers using workload analysis, there are workers who have excessive workload values, namely workers 1, 2, 3 for the tofu 2 and worker 1 for the tempe factory so that improvements are needed. The recommendation is to increase the tofu 2 workforce by 2 people so that the total workforce for tofu 2 becomes 8 people and the addition of a tempe factory worker by 1 person so that the total workforce becomes 4 people.
