The Medan area sub-district office is one of the sub-districts in the Medan city area which is located at Jl. Rahmadsyah No.2. there are many arrangements carried out by the sub-district office starting from making ID cards, making family cards, etc. One of the jobs that are currently experiencing problems is that the sub-district office is currently selecting people who are entitled to receive direct cash assistance (BLT). Where at this time the Medan area sub-district office still uses a manual system in determining the people who are entitled to receive the BLT assistance as a result later it can happen that it is not right on target for people who are entitled to receive BLT. receive direct cash assistance (BLT). Data mining itself is the process of extracting information or something important or interesting from the data in the database so as to produce very valuable information. The purpose of this research is to build a data mining system to determine prospective recipients of direct cash assistance based on criteria that have been determined by the office. subdistrict field area and the results achieved in this study, namely the K-Means algorithm can be used to classify cash transfer data, so that it can find out data on people who need and don't need it.
