Construction development in Indonesia has recently experienced rapid development. A very important element in the implementation of a construction project is project planning. In this plan there is an overview of quality targets that must be completed within a certain time and at a certain cost. It is common for many projects to experience swelling in terms of time and cost. This research discusses the construction project of the SMK Negeri 5 Practice Room located at Jl.Timor no 36, Gaharu, Medan City. This study aims to optimize the scheduling and cost of the RPS construction project at SMK Negeri 5 Medan using the Least Cost Scheduling method. This research was conducted with a critical analysis of the factors that affect project scheduling and costs. Furthermore, data collection is carried out such as implementation time, material costs, labor costs, and other costs that affect project costs. The acceleration used in this study is by using overtime and overtime wages. The results of this study indicate that using the Least Cost Scheduling method can produce the most efficient schedule and optimize project costs. In this study, the resulting schedule has a total project duration of 86 days with an additional 4 working hours and a total cost of IDR 306,113,064.00. And it is hoped that this research can contribute to increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of project implementation.
