dc.description.abstract The rapid development of technology has made people who initially only saved money with traditional safe boxes or commonly called piggy banks, now with technological advances, storage boxes can be developed into automatic storage boxes. This money storage box equipped with a microcontroller can recognize the nominal amount of money that has been saved, and provide information on the amount of balance in the savings to have a password-based security system. The design of this microcontroller-based money storage box uses Arduino Uno as the main controller, the TCS3200 sensor as a banknote detector by utilizing the RGB values (red, green, blue) of each color of banknotes, and the selenoid door lock as security in the storage box. Based on the results of tests that have been carried out, this microcontroller-based money deposit box can distinguish and calculate types of banknotes, can provide information on the amount of balance in savings, and is equipped with a password as a safe deposit box.
