This research was conducted to see the characteristics of the current and voltage harmonics in an electric power system that is loaded with non-linear loads. Inverter is a non-linear load that is widely used in industry, government agencies and households. In theory, the inverter is a non-linear load that can produce harmonics in the electric power system, where the resulting harmonics will be flowed to the source and to the load. Therefore, this research is to see the characteristics of harmonics in the electric power system produced by a three- phase inverter, where this research was carried out in two scenarios. The first scenario is to see the harmonics of current and voltage when the inverter is not loaded and the second scenario is to see the harmonics of current and voltage when the inverter is loaded. Both scenarios are carried out with varied source voltages.Type of filter used here is passive filter (single-tuned filter). The simulation result by using simulink, show that the THDv values are 38,94% and 27,43% for the initial condition and filter-used condition respectively. As the THDv value in the filter-used conditions is out of IEEE standard 1952, it is required to install some more filters.
Keywords : inverter, voltage, current, harmonic.
