Various skincare (skincare) products such as cream, soap, serum and other skin-care products require the use in depending on individual skin types. The facial type is normal, oily, dry, and combination. Knowing the type of facial skin is essential to selecting a suitable skincare product. Most people use skin care without knowing and understanding their skin type, as result inappropriate and infrequent skin problems that ultimately harm themselves. Therefore, before determining the product to be used, the primary thing is knowing the type of skin of each of us. An expert system is a system that adopts knowledge from an proffesional and can act as an expert in handling consultation processes. This study aims to produce an expert system for determining facial skin type by applying the Forward Chaining method . This Expert System will be implemented into a web-based application with the waterfall method, where the premise is fulfilled, the concluding part will be true and if it instead jumps into the another premise below. Thus, an expert system can be one of the solutions to identifying facial types by their skin traits.
