Water is the primary need of humans and the needs of living things other. For industrial activities, water has an important role in both production and non- production activities. The use of water in palm oil mills requires about 5000m2 per day, so Water treatment is needed to get good water quality. Raw Water Treatment is a water purification process to reduce high turbidity levels, so a jar test method is needed for analysis of raw water quality. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the administration of coagulants and flocculants in the water purification process at the palm oil mill of PT. Palmaris Raya Mandailing Natal. This research was conducted at the Palm Oil Mill of PT. Palmari Raya Mandailing Natal by using the jar test method, so that the optimum dose can be determined in the addition of coagulant and flocculant chemicals, besides that the jar test can also reduce pH and turbidity levels in raw water. From the results of statistical tests using a paired simple test, it was found that by adding alum chemical as much as 900ppm, 60ppm soda ash and 0.5 ppm polymer can increase the pH from 6.83 to 7.6, the initial TDS 50mg/L increased to 80mg/L. and can reduce the Fe content from 2.88 to 0.03, the turbidity value from 29NTU decreased to 0.51NTU and the color content from 73PtCo to 8Pitco. Where the jar test method shows that H0 is rejected where the p-value is <0.05, which means that there is a significant effect from the jar test analysis on the decrease in Fe, Turbidity and color as well as on the goodness of pH and TDS. So with the addition of chemicals in the raw water purification process at PT Palmaris Raya, it can be used for the raw water purification process in the dry season
