dc.description.abstract In the city of Medan there are many typical Padang restaurants available, one of which is the Bunga tanjung restaurant which is located at Jl. Denai No. 17. Over time, the Bunga tanjung restaurant has found problems, where the Bunga tanjung restaurant still has difficulty predicting the number of sales they want to target to achieve sales each month. Departing from the problems above, the author tries to research by predicting the sales level of the Bunga tanjung restaurant using Single Exponential Smoothing. Single Exponential Smoothing is defined as the development of the moving average method. In this method forecasting is done by repeating calculations continuously using the latest data, each new data is given greater weight. The purpose of this method is to determine the value of α which minimizes MSE in the test group. Applications that have been built are capable of producing predictions for the following month, using data on restaurant sales. Keywords: Restaurant, Single Exponential Smoothing, Forecasting en_US
