The power transfer system in general consists of a clutch unit, transmission, differential, on the axle and wheels of the vehicle. While the position of the clutch unit and its components (clutch assembly), is located at the very front end and the power transfer system on the vehicle. In accordance with its function, namely to disconnect and connect, the unit disconnects and connects the flow of power / motion / moment from the engine to the power transfer system. The background for the author in choosing the title of this study is due to the lack of knowledge of vehicle users in maintaining the clutch system, so that small damage will become large and will increase the cost of maintenance and repair, the disorder that often occurs in the clutch system is wear on the clutch plate, as well as damage to components others due to lack of maintenance. This study used the SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) test method. In the research results, the damage that occurs to the clutch system is worn lining, weak plendes, dry draghlaker which can cause damage to the clutch system. The main factor that causes damage to the clutch system is human error or the driver often uses a half clutch which can cause damage to the clutch system and cables. The improvement suggestion is not to use the half clutch often and do it regularly.
