The development of the times is in line with the development of computer technology, which means that the storage and delivery of electronic documents is also increasing rapidly. Text files as a form of representation of electronic documents, namely all electronic information created and stored in digital form. The issue of information security in text files is a very crucial issue to be discussed. Especially if the text file sent has important and confidential information. If ignored, the information can be changed or used by irresponsible parties. Therefore, we need a technique or method to maintain the confidentiality of information, among which the popular ones are cryptography and steganography. This study uses the Skipjack algorithm in the encryption and decryption process, combined with inserting ciphertext through the image using the Least Significant Bit method. The results of the system test show that the Skipjack algorithm successfully encodes a text file and returns it, and the Least Significant Bit method also successfully performs the process of inserting and extracting text files with an average MSE value of 0.00259 and an average PSNR value of 73.9906 on file insertion. *.docx and the average MSE value is 0.00259 and the average PSNR value is 73,986 on the insertion of *.pdf files. While the process of inserting and extracting text files is directly proportional to the length of the text file or the size of the digital image. This means that the longer the text file used, the longer it will take to insert and extract the text file.
