Automation is the use of control systems and information technology to reduce human interaction in the process of producing goods and services. This research is intended to facilitate and assist UMKM in the production process, namely by designing an automation system using PLC as the main controller of the system in the process of filling and locking bottle caps, at an affordable price for all small-scale business activists. In the programming process using the logic gate method which is used as a basis in the formation of a digital electronic system that functions to convert several inputs into a logical output signal. PLC programming uses a Ladder Diagram where in the ladder diagram this is where all the commands that will be designed are designed, then the ladder diagram will then be sent via a USB cable to be permanently embedded in the PLC outseal hardware. In the ladder diagram there are also several types of commands that are most often used in programming such as the TON (Time On Delay) command whose function is to determine the time of each automation process. The next command is the CTU (Counter Up) command whose function is to set the number of bottles to be read by the sensor. Automatically filling 4 bottles takes about 16.62 seconds for a 500 ml bottle, while a 250 ml bottle requires a filling time of 7.81 seconds, with a conveyor speed of 0.146 m/s, and an ideal air pressure to pneumatic of 0.002 bar, and the maximum reading distance from the sensor is 80-90 cm. In a minute for a 500 ml bottle it produces about 15-16 bottles, and for a 250 ml bottle per minute it produces about 63-64 bottles. In the end, the system applied to the bottle filling machine can run well and get good production results.
