The development of computer and telecommunication technology has now progressed very rapidly, so it is necessary to secure data to safeguard information stored in digital form. There are so many problems in information system security such as lost data, intercepted data, even though the user has used data security in the form of a password. Therefore, a branch of science emerged that studied ways of securing text messages or known as cryptography. Cryptography is the science and art of maintaining message security when messages are sent from one place to another so that the data is still guaranteed its integrity, confidentiality and accuracy. . In this study, the method used is a combination of two algorithms, namely the Vatsyayana Cipher algorithm and the RSA algorithm. In terms of data security techniques, many cryptographic methods can be used. These cryptographic methods have their own techniques and methods. One of the cryptographic methods that can be used is the Vatsyayana Cipher method. But if you only use the Vatsyayana Cipher method, text data security is very weak. So to achieve a higher level of security this method is combined with the RSA method. Where the results of the combination of the Vatsyayana Cipher algorithm and the RSA algorithm form a random set of encrypted letters that is difficult to read. This system is built using Visual Basic.Net 2010 programming language.
