Sterilization is a process of killing all forms of life are microorganisms that exist on the objects around the particular environment. In the process of sterilization it utilizes ultraviolet light as a disinfectant to kill bacteria or viruses. Based on the results of research that has been done, ultraviolet light is able to inhibit the growth of microorganisms such as influenza viruses that have similarities such as the corona virus with the wavelength of the irradiation of ultraviolet 254nm. As it is known that around the world, including Indonesia is experiencing attacks of epidemic disease caused by corona virus widely or commonly referred to as a pandemic. This is a factor that people should be more concerned about sterility and hygiene in terms of any kind including objects or goods that are used. The implementation of the 3M protocol ( washing hands, wearing masks, keeping distance) as a health protocol for this pandemic must be accompanied by the sterility of the objects used. Because in objects that are used continuously will make bacteria grow faster.
From the problem came the idea to design a tool “Design of the Sterilization Box Using UV-Rays Based on Arduino and Android App As a System of Control of the Non-Touch”. This tool utilizes the radiation beams of ultraviolet light that have been studied and have been tested to inhibit the growth of bacteria. In this study the system used arduino uno microcontroller that serves as a device that activates all components. such as ultrasonic sensors and servo motors. This box sterilization tool uses hc-05 bluetooth device as communicator between sterile box and android application.
