dc.description.abstract Retaining walls are a type of structure in the geotechnical field that functions to hold soil masses where there are differences in contours or differences in height. This type of structure is usually made of wood, stone, concrete, or steel. In fact, the retaining wall serves to withstand the lateral soil pressure that can be caused by piles or unstable original soil. This type of structure is widely applied in the world of civil engineering, especially for projects such as irrigation, ports, roads, dams, basement walls, bridge bases, and others. As for those that combine soil retaining structures with geosynthetic materials to increase soil stability or strength. In connection with the existence of a building construction in the amphiteather and bolon house construction project, a retaining wall (DPT) was built which functions to support the load of the waste pile and the load above the ground. In the construction of amphiteather and bolon houses, retaining walls (DPT) are being designed to compare which retaining wall (DPT) designs are the most economical and in accordance with budgeted costs.
