ABSTRACT
Compression is a technique to reduce the size of an image. Several compression techniques that can be used to compress an image are the Ternary Comma Code and Huffman algorithms. The large size of the image in the .bmp image file is a problem for users in the sending process. One solution to solve this problem is to use compression techniques. Based on the results of research conducted by compression of the Ternary Comma Code and Huffman Algorithms with time objects, compression results and also data size, the compression results show that the Huffman Encoding Algorithm has higher efficiency than Ternary Comma Code Encoding in terms of compression time, compression results and also size digital image data.
