dc.description.abstract Information technology, especially the internet, is currently growing very rapidly, this is caused by the increasing number of people who disseminate information through the internet. Starting from simple information, information is individual or organizational, with various information formats (text, images and video). In addition, some people make the internet a basic need, and from day to day the number tends to increase. In today's era of technological development, everyone wants to get information quickly. The development of the number of users of information technology, especially the internet, is generally not followed by the addition of appropriate bandwidth, so problems often arise related to the speed of access to get internet services. Squid is a deamon that is used as a proxy server and web cache. Squid has many uses, from speeding up web servers by caching repeated requests, DNS caching, website caching, and caching computer searches on a network, for a group of computers using the same network resources, to assisting security. by filtering (filter) traffic. An easy way to save bandwidth and force authentication on information traffic is to use squid. The use of Squid can also be used to increase the need to speed up information retrieval.
