dc.description.abstract This thesis deals with inflection number and tense. Inflection refers to word formation that does not change category and does not create new lexemes but rather changes the form of lexemes into different grammatical contexts. Number marked with suffix –s or –es and tense marked with suffix –ed and –s. The research objectives are intended to describe the term of number and tense and also to find the most dominant inflection used in Malcolm Turnbull’s speech. The theory of this research is morphology by using William O’Grady book entitle Morphology: The Analysis of Word Structure in Contemporary Linguistics. The methodology of this research is descriptive qualitative research methodology. The findings of this research that is inflection number and plural showed that 103 types of plural, 24 types of derived nouns, 9 types of compound nouns, 31 types of non past, 36 types of past, 7 types of derived verbs and 3 types of compound verbs. The most dominant inflection is plural, 48.35%.en_US
