dc.description.abstract | This study regard with the analysis about figurative language. Figurative language or figure of speech is a beautiful word which has implicit meaning. Sometimes, people cannot absorb the meaning of figurative language correctly. It is because a figure of speech cannot be translated word by word people have to think deeper to understand what writers or speaker says in figurative language. The objectives of this study are to identify the types of figurative meaning found in Bruno Mars selected songs and to analyze and describe the meaning of the figurative language used in Bruno Mars selected songs. The material and information related to the figurative language from grammar books and also internet media. As the result, the writer concluded that there were four kinds of figurative language. The data that the writer was collected are thirty four (34) sentences. The sentence consists of methapor seven (7), the sentence consists of personification five (5), the sentence consists of simile seven (7) and the sentence consists of hyperbole fifteen (15). | en_US |
