| dc.description.abstract | This study discusses the symbolic meanings in the Bosar Maligas Muslim Batak Tobanese – Simalungun Marriage Ceremony . Signs aim to simplify ideas for facilitate communication which includes meaning, values, norms or certain intentions that must be obeyed by the Toba and Simalungun community.. This study used a qualitative descriptive method and the main source data is taken from DVD of the traditional marriage ceremony of muslim batak Tobanese – Simalungun in Bosar Maligas Subdistrict. and also library data. The data collection techniques used in this study are observation and interview. The result found in this study are 14 signs, namely:Ulos, weddding ring , hepeng , boras , beras kuning, aek , pisang , dayok naiatur, pinggan , mandar (cloth), kaffir lime, bulung pisang, flowers, rice flour. and the meanings of signs found in thi study are five, namely: Ritual and sacred meanings, meanings of communication, meaning of majesty and honor,meanings of request and expectations, meanings of ethics and modesty. For this reason, improving the quality of culture and values contained in Toba and Simalungun Batak communities must be cried out so that the culture is not extinct. Especially for young generation ,learning culture itself is the way to respect our own culture. | en_US |
