Manpower plays an important role in the running of the business wheel of an industry, good labor productivity is needed in carrying out every process that runs in a company. One of the obstacles that affect the performance of workers is the workload experienced by each employee. CV. Kotama Shoes is one of the shoe production companies as well as a shoe sales shop, even the best shoe distributor in Indonesia, which is located in Medan. CV. Kotama Shoes itself has seven stations, namely pattern making stations, cutting stations, sewing stations, gluing stations, pressing stations, soldering stations, and finishing stations. Of the seven stations, there is one station that has problems related to the production process, namely the gluing station. Where the workers often experience overtime work in order to achieve the production results that have been targeted by the company. The high workload experienced by workers at the station is due to an imbalance in the workload at each work station. This study aims to determine the standard time, and determine the percentage of workload productivity at the gluing station using work sampling method. The work sampling method is a technique for conducting a number of observations on the work activities of the operator. Observation of work activities for an interval of time taken at random on one or more workers and then recording whether the worker's activities are in a productive or unproductive state. From the data processing, the standard time needed to produce one shoe is 5.62 minutes. The workload that employees get at the gluing station is 83.87%. Thus, a productivity percentage of more than 75% is too heavy for employees to carry out their work.
