dc.description.abstract Inventory is always needed by every company, both small and large companies. With the inventory procurement policy, it is expected that the production process can run smoothly. Without an inventory of raw materials, companies are faced with the risk that one day the company will not be able to meet consumer needs. The purpose of this study is to determine the number of purchases of raw materials at each time the order with the lowest cost and find out the right time period to place an order for raw materials by predicting the need for raw materials in the coming year, with the aim of knowing the description of needs in the next year. The data studied are in the form of data on raw material needs, data on ordering costs, storage costs, frequency of purchasing raw materials and the number of purchases of raw materials during 2021. Data collection techniques are by interview, observation. This research is a descriptive research (descriptive research). The approach used is the method of Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) and Period Order Quantity (POQ). Meanwhile, the calculation using the POQ method is lower than the company's policy, with the purchase of 1,170 pallets of raw materials with a frequency of 6 times, and 34 pieces of plywood with an order period of 10 times a year with a total inventory cost of Rp 4,581. 178, or just 26% of the company's current methods. By using the POQ method, the company can save inventory costs of Rp. 12,964,990. To anticipate undesirable things related to the supply of raw materials, the researcher advises the company to provide a safety stock of 56 pallets and 6 sheets of plywood and reorder when the raw materials are 1,296 pallets and 33 sheets of plywood. Based on the conclusions above, the authors advise the company to consider the use of the POQ method to determine the raw material requirements needed, the amount of safety stock and when the company should place an order again so that optimal inventory control can be achieved.
