Controlling the lighting system is one of the home control systems that are devoted to lights, this system provides comfort to homeowners to control home lights using an android smartphone. In the design of this system, the switch on the lamp can be replaced by using a relay device and controlled via a microcontroller based on a bluetooth connection network so that it can be connected to an android smartphone that has installed a control program application via bluetooth.
In this study, testing the expansion of the radius of bluetooth connectivity on a system with parameters that can execute commands from an android smartphone, the timer runs according to the input time of the user device and on the bluetooth module, innovations and modifications of external transmitters are made in order to expand the range of the bluetooth network. The types of antennas used are yagi type, parabolic type, helix type. The results of the connectivity test in an open space are when pairing without an antenna it can reach a distance of 30 meters in 4.5 seconds and after using the antenna it increases to 40 meters in 6.2 seconds. After pairing, testing is done when the connection without an antenna can reach a distance of 80 meters in 2 seconds in an open room and when using an antenna it can reach a distance of up to 100 meters in 2.1 seconds in an open room.
