Aluminum Ingot is the main product produced by PT Inalum (Persero). As the production process progresses, there are problems with the quality standards of Aluminum Ingot G1 products, the production of Aluminum ingots G1 still has product defects, so PT Inalum (Persero) needs to make improvements to the production process. The purpose of this research is to improve the production process in order to reduce the level of Aluminum Ingot G1 product defects. One of the efforts to reduce product defects is to analyze Process Capability using the DMAIC method. P control chart (proportion of disability), and Np control chart (total proportion of disability) showed that all characteristics were within control limits. The calculation of the Process Capability index obtained is a Cp value of 0.87l, which means that the current process is still low in its capability to produce products that comply with the company's quality standards. Factors causing defects in the production of Aluminum Ingots are Human Factors (Labor), Machine Factors, Material Factors. Proposed action to improve the production process to reduce the level of defect in Aluminum ingot products is to carry out maintenance/patching of rubber from worn/damaged conveyor belts, aluminum inspections are carried out visually, inspections are carried out by inspectors when the product transfer process is carried out, pull machine maintenance is carried out every 3 days. once a month, cleaning of mold tools and aluminum ingot printing materials is carried out once a month.
