dc.description.abstract The problem examined in this research is "How to evaluate the traffic performance of unsignalized intersections on Jl. William Iskandar-Jl. William Iskandar Pasar V?”. The object of the research is the intersection of Jl. William Iskandar-Jl. William Iskandar Pasar V. Determining objects based on observations made by researchers of local residents. This case study is one of the problems faced by the city of Medan. One of the factors in the effort to achieve a good transportation infrastructure system is the road performance capability. Problems in the city of Medan generally occur in traffic jams and queues at intersections, both signalized and unsignalized intersections. One of the intersections in the city of Medan that does not have signals experiencing problems with congestion and queues is the intersection of Jl. William Iskandar and Jl. William Iskandar Pasar V which is in Medan Tembung District. After obtaining volume data that occurs during peak hours, traffic analysis is carried out based on technical aspects based on the guidelines of the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI, 1997) to determine side obstacles, capacity levels and degrees of saturation on the Jl. William Iskandar and Jl. William Iskandar Pasar V. The results of the analysis showed that traffic jams were caused by public transportation which dropped off passengers haphazardly. At road intersections there are shops, markets, vehicles stop, parking is not in place. Traffic flow is in a stable state, operating speed is starting to be limited by other vehicles. The traffic volume value reaches 1630 smp/hour, side obstacles are 95.2 kjd/hour with a road capacity of 4946 smp/hour and has a saturation degree of 0.22. Keywords: Traffic volume, side obstacles, capacity, degree of saturation en_US
