This study is to determine the price of hardness, and wear and tear of the clutch lining with variations in the composition of aluminum powder, coconut shell charcoal carbon, particle board and phenolic resin and then compared with coupling canvases on the market, namely standard coupling canvases (DanMotor). The materials used in this study were coconut shell charcoal carbon, aluminum powder, and phenolic resin. After obtaining the carbon coupling specimens of coconut shell charcoal, aluminum powder, and phenolic resin, wear testing was carried out. As well as temperature measurements, final thickness, final weight. The results of this test indicate that the composition of the material with variations in coconut shell charcoal carbon is 20 grams, particle board 3 grams of additional material 25 grams and phenolic resin 50 grams, the dry test wear price is 3.5mm/min and the wet test wear price is 2.9mm/min. min. So that it is close to the standard clutch lining (DanMotor), the dry test wear is 3mm/min and the oil-influenced wet test wear is 1.6mm/min.
Keywords: clutch lining, coconut shell carbon, aluminum powder particle board, polyester resin, wear.
