dc.description.abstract The application of advances in 3D printing technology makes it easy for designers and concept development teams to produce components and concept models using a 3D printing. 3D Printing is a tool that can process the creation of a series of objects by placing thin layers that are formed sequentially according to the desired shape. FDM is a 3D printing technique for printing products using filament as a material. This study aims to find information about the optimum parameters for producing FDM printed objects with the highest tensile strength using a filament, namely Polylactic Acid (PLA). The Taguchi method is a methodology in engineering to improve workpieces, characteristics and can reduce costs and research with low. The method is based on the tensile strength of PLA filaments by analyzing the optimum value of tensile strength using PLA filaments. In this discussion, the researcher uses the Taguchi Method experimental design by designing an L9 Orthogonal Array design with four factors and three levels. SNR Signal to Noise Ratio analysis to determine the optimum parameters on the tensile strength of PLA filament. The process parameters that will be used in this research are nozzle temperature (°C), print speed (mm/s), print orientation (°), and infill pattern. In this study, the results showed that using the 50% Infill Density parameter was optimal for the tensile test using 50% Infill Density, namely Nozzle Temperature (205°C), Print Speed (60 mm/s), Orientation (0°), and Pattern Filler/Fill (Cubic).en_US
