Cryptography is a skill and science of ways for communication which is also used as a tool to ensure the security and confidentiality of information. Therefore, the impact of the ease of accessing information is felt by many parties as one of the data security problems, especially files. Information is very vulnerable to be manipulated by unauthorized parties. Based on these problems, techniques are needed to create data. A known technique that can be used to create data is Cryptography. The Shift Cipher cryptographic algorithm. This technique uses the remainder of the calculations carried out and the encoding process uses modulo 26 operations. In experiments that have been carried out on a number of document files, it has been proven that Shift Cipher has reliability in data and Hufmman File extraction results have been successfully carried out without corrupt master files and message files without changing the contents of the files.
