dc.description.abstract Incomplete combustion process is a problem that will be encountered in efforts to improve the performance of diesel motors. The process of mixing air and fuel that is not good is one of the factors causing this imperfection.1 For motor operation, diesel fuel is used which is a liquid fuel. Diesel fuel (diesel) is produced according to predetermined quality requirements. However, there are also efforts to improve its quality, namely by adding addictive substances to the fuel. In connection with the addition of addictive substances to fuel, a test was conducted to determine its effect on motor performance, namely fuel consumption (FC) and engine shaft power (BHP) .2 The equipment used in this study was an Isuzu 4 cylinder diesel engine. This study aims to determine the composition of the additive mixture that can produce the best performance in a diesel motorbike. The performance of diesel engines is observed by obtaining the specific fuel consumption (SFC) parameters and thermal efficiency. In this study, several variations of the mixture of diesel fuel and additives were made, namely diesel + 6 cc additives (Solar A6). As a comparison, pure diesel fuel (Solar A0) is used. The results showed that the minimum specific fuel consumption of a mixture of diesel fuel and additives occurred when using a mixture of Solar A6 at 2400 rpm, which was 0.15 kg / kWh. Meanwhile, the minimum specific fuel consumption for diesel occurs at 2400 rpm, which is 0.17 kg / kWh. There was a reduction in the specific fuel consumption by 11.28%. The maximum thermal efficiency of a mixture of diesel fuel and additives occurs when using a mixture of Solar A6 at 2400 rpm, which is 73%. Meanwhile, the maximum thermal efficiency of diesel fuel occurs at the 2400 rpm rotation of 72%. There was an increase in thermal efficiency by 1.38%. From the analysis of specific fuel consumption, the diesel fuel mixture A6 is better than the Diesel A0 mixture. Meanwhile, from the thermal efficiency analysis, the fuel mixture for Solar A6 is better than the mixture for Solar A0.3 Keywords: Diesel motor, fuel, performance, additives en_US
