dc.description.abstract | The objectives of this study are to identify the categories speech act of commands and to find out the most dominant speech act of commands used in Justice Movie. This study was analyzed based on theory of Holmes in Richards and Schmidt, 1983. The source of data was Justice movie (2017), and the data were utterances based on the script by Marshall and Mayor Pierce as the main character in Justice movie. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data were 60 utterances. The results of this study are (1) the categories of illocutionary act of command used in Justice movie are based form of verb with 15 data (25%), you + imperatives with 16 data (27%), verb ellipsis with 1 data (2%), imperatives modifier with 2 data (3%), let + first person pronoun with 8 data (13%), embedded agent with 8 data (13%), and hints with 10 data (17%) and (2) the most dominant categories of command by Marshall and Mayor Pierce as the main character in Justice movie is you + imperatives with 16 data from totally of 60 data (27%). | en_US |
