Construction activity management always involves planning, determining construction schedules and controlling. The implementation of a construction project will often have unplanned problems, so that the delay will make the project implementation time that has been planned in the initial contract will change. Often when the implementation of the project in the field is not in accordance with the initial planning, so that many deviations occur including project delays.
The risk of project delays can be minimized by using various methods of accelerating project implementation time, one of which is the Fast Track method. Fast Track is a scheduling method whose project completion time is faster than the planned time by using more efficient ways so as to reduce project implementation time. The purpose of this study is to determine the time savings and what work has become shorter after applying scheduling with the Fast Track method on the Irian Supermarket Setiabudi Medan construction project.
From the research results, it was found that the initial implementation time was 455 days and after acceleration with the Fast Track method the results were 431 days, so using the Fast Track method there was an acceleration of time for 24 days from the initial implementation time or an acceleration of 5.27% from the initial planning. Of all the work items, there are several work items that are accelerated, including: bottom structure work accelerated by 4 days, ground floor work accelerated by 10 days, masonry work accelerated by 10 days, ceramic floor work accelerated by 10 days.
