The SMAW welding method is the most frequently used method for welding, this method was chosen because the equipment used is simple, cheap, and easy to move, because welding has a limited access area and this method is most suitable for stainless 201 and 304. This study aims to determine and analyze the welding conditions of the SMAW Model, the shape of the structure and the influence of the SMAW Model Welding Results on Tensile Strength and Hardness in Stainless 201 and Stainless 304. This research was conducted at the Materials and Manufacturing Mechanics Laboratory, Department of Mechanical Engineering Polmed Medan. This research took 7 months starting from a literature study, and then carried out other stages. This Vickers hardness test specimen refers to the ASTM E10 standard, with a specimen thickness of 1.5 mm. The diameter of the indicator ball used is 10 mm, the width of the specimen in the Vikers hardness test is 30 mm and the length is 40 mm. The results of the SMAW Model Welding Value for Tensile Strength and Hardness in Stainless 201 and Stainless 304 maximum tensile stress testing are found in the results of calculating the tensile strength value of E-308 welding with a 1G welding position, where the average tensile strength value is 5.20 kg/mm2, while the 2G welding position has a low tensile strength value with an average value of 5.02kg/mm2.
