Technological developments will have a positive impact on human life. In the field of electronics and computers, many products such as microcontrollers, transducers, sensors and others can be integrated into a more sophisticated system. There is a lack of security systems at West Papua airports, especially fire alarms at this time. The need for a fire detection device can be designed by creating a fire alarm system and also by assembling an electronic circuit to realize the system, then by designing a program algorithm to run the fire alarm device created. In the working system of the designed tool, the sensor can detect fire points and provide a signal to the microcontroller by changing the infrared light emitted by the fire and converting it into an analog voltage and giving it to the microcontroller. When the microcontroller receives this voltage, the microcontroller will respond as a fire and will activate the buzzer and then activate the water pump. In the experimental results, the sensor detects fire (1 candle-8 candles) at a distance of 100-400 cm and the buzzer will automatically sound at that time. A fire sensor is a tool that functions to detect fires early, so that the fires that occur do not grow bigger. A fire alarm system can be created by utilizing fire sensors, microcontrollers, buzzers, water pumps which are programmed to detect fire in the room. The program algorithm was designed with the help of Arduino IDE software version 1.8.13 with a C language structure, then compiled and uploaded to the Wemos D1R1 microcontroller.
