dc.description.abstract In the fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) fiber-optic communication system, it cannot be separated from the attention of the power budget. The use of fiber optic cable as a transmission medium in the telecommunication world is one of the most appropriate solutions to improve data, voice, and video communication system services. Optical fiber communication system runs well and smoothly if there is no shortage of power budget (power budget). This paper only discusses the calculation of loss and power budget analysis. Power budget analysis is very important to be done regularly to assess and evaluate the state of loss and the parameters in the design of the link power budget in the feasibility of a fiber optic communication network. In the calculation carried out at the STO SMP – Seksama Pemda Complex Link ODP-SPM-FCS/081, the loss from the measurement ranges from 1.023 to 1.139 dB, and the loss from the calculation based on the Standardization ranges from 2.814 to 2.829 dB, while the Margin System which can range between 36, 861 s / d 36,977 dB. The power budget analysis in this paper will measure the communication network that is in the coverage area of STO Simpang Limun (SPM) - Seksama Pemda Komplek PT TELKOM.
