dc.description.abstract Pumice is a rock with the main characteristics of being bright in color and very porous. These rocks are also known as silicate volcanic glass rocks because they contain foam made of glass walled bubbles. Pumice is most widely used as a lightweight concrete aggregate and as an abrasive in various industrial products. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of pumice as a partial substitute for coarse aggregate with the addition of quicklime ash on the compressive strength of concrete. Quicklime ash is the result of burning limestone. Lime reacts with various fine pozzolan components to form calcium silica cement. The use of pumice as a partial substitution of coarse aggregate, which is used are: 0%, 10%, 15%, 20% and the addition of quicklime ash 0%, 5%, 7.5%, 10%. The results showed that the highest compressive strength was at 0% pumice content with the addition of 0% quicklime ash with an average compressive strength value of 17.1 MPa.
