| dc.description.abstract | This study concern with the descriptive analysis of The Slang Types Used by Students of Budi Murni Highschool Medan. The objective of the study are firstly to identify the type of slang language used by teenagers in Budi Murni Highschool, secondly to explain the function of slang language by group of teenagers, and thirdly to understand the effect of slang language uttered by group of teenagers. This study used a Partridge’s (1894-1979) theory. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method to classify and analyze the slang language. The data resource of this study is from the students in Budi Murni Highschool Medan that is use slang language in their conversation. Research of this study found that (1) there are many varieties of slang language, with 112 slang words that is used by students in Budi Murni Highschool Medan. (2) there are two types of slang: offensive and vulgar. These two types have definition and different meaning. | en_US |
