dc.description.abstract This study is concerned with the descriptive analysis of Dialects in Bahasa Indonesia Within Javanese and Bataknese Cross-Cultural Marriage Community. The problems of this study are (1) What are the vocabulary variations that can be found in Bataknese and Javanese daily speech? (2) What are the types of lexical found in the dialect of cross-cultural marriage? The objectives of the study are to find out the vocabulary variations that can be found in the daily speech, to identify the impacts of the dialects in the cross-cultural marriage to both parties and social. This study used a David Crystal’s (2006) theory. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method to analyze the dialect. The data resource of this study is from five crosscultural (Bataknese and Javanese) married couples in Sei Mati, Medan Maimun, Medan. Research of this study found that (1) not everyone knows how to speak in their regional language (2) Bahasa Indonesia used most in cross-cultural marriage in Sei Mati, Medan Maimun, Medan. en_US
