| dc.description.abstract | The objectives of the study are to classify the kinds of speech act found in Coco Movie, to find out the most dominant kind of speech act used in Coco Movie, and to find out the purpose of the main character using speech act in Coco Movie. This study used Yule’s (1996) theory. This research used descriptive qualitative method. There are 232 utterances as the source data, the data were the utterances based on the script of Coco Movie. The data analyzed based on the Speech Act which is based on Yule’s theory (1996) that focused on kinds of speech act, namely: representative,directive,commisive,expressive,declaration. The data of this research the script of Coco Movie of 232 diaologue that have utterances, they are: 136 cases on representative, 50 cases on directive, 20 cases on expressive, 15 cases on Commisive and 11 cases on declaration. The most dominant kinds of speech using in Coco Movie is reprsentative (136 cases or 58,62%) | en_US |
