dc.description.abstract | Ukiyo-e painting is a skill in expressing aesthetic ideas and thoughts in wooden blocks so as to show a 3-dimensional effect, including realizing the ability and imagination of views of objects, atmosphere, nature or works that are able to create a sense of beauty so as to create a more advanced civilization. -e () is a term for a woodcut or woodcut technique that developed in Japan during the Edo period which is used to describe landscape paintings, natural conditions and everyday life in Japanese society. In Japanese, "Ukiyo" means today's era, while "e" is a picture or painting. The Ukiyo-e painting that has the most special meaning is the painting with the theme of three birds. The first bird painting is the Oshidori Mandarin Duck which has the meaning of loyalty and happiness which is written in the Haiku sentence. This is because the life of a duck in the real world has only one partner for life. The second painting of the Japanese Burgundy Tsuru has the meaning of peace, harmony and prosperity in people's lives. The third painting of Uso's Kutilang Bird means good luck. Until now the Japanese believe in the meaning of Haiku which is depicted in Ukiyo-e. In making Ukiyo-e, two techniques are used, namely Traditional and Modern. Traditional and modern Ukiyo-e making have similarities in carving on wood, but differ in the coloring technique. In traditional coloring, the colors used are natural colors based on water as a natural color, while modern coloring uses chemical ink and printing colors. | en_US |
