| dc.description.abstract | This study focuses on category shift in English-Indonesian translation of Noblesse webtoon comic. The objectives of the study are to describe the types of category shift in Noblesse webtoon comic, to identify and describe that is occured regarding to category shift in Noblesse webtoon comic and find out the most dominant category shift found in Noblesse webtoon comic. This study used Catford’s (1965) theory. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The source of data was webtoon’s comic Noblesse, the data were the utterances based on the text of Noblesse webtoon comic. The data analyzed based on the translation shift which is based on Catford’s theory (1965) that focused on category shift, namely: unit, structure, class, intrasystem. The data of this research the text of Noblesse consists of 57 texts that translated from English into Indonesian, they are: 20 cases on unit shift, 17 cases on structure shift, 9 cases on class shift, and 11 cases on intra-system shift.
