Technological developments have had a big influence on the world of construction because they improve and simplify the quality of work. In the construction of the Grand Wing Hotel Achmad Tahir Politeknik Pariwisata Medan, one of the technological applications used was in the implementation of concrete molds or formwork, most of which used semi-system formwork on column structures, although some still used conventional formwork. This is what prompted research to be carried out regarding the comparison of costs and time for using conventional formwork with semi-system formwork in the column structure of the Grand Wing Hotel Achmad Tahir Politeknik Pariwisata (POLTEKPAR) Medan. The aim to be achieved in this research is to find out the right type of formwork to be used for a column formwork job. Achmad Tahir POLTEKPAR Medan Grand Wing Hotel Project, if you prioritize the cost aspect, it is more appropriate to use conventional formwork for formwork work. If you prioritize the time aspect, it is appropriate to use semi-system formwork because this formwork has the fastest implementation time among other formworks. The research results show that the Achmad Tahir Medan Grand Wing Hotel project was carried out using conventional formwork, the cost per square meter was Rp. 173,866, with a cost difference of Rp. 289,844 cheaper than the calculation using semi-system formwork, which is an average of Rp. 463,710. However, for a time comparison, using conventional formwork the time required per square meter is 13 minutes, with a difference of 7.68 minutes longer than the calculation using a semi-system, namely an average of 5.32 minutes.
