dc.description.abstract The difficulty of obtaining sufficient water supply to meet the needs of agricultural land is one of the factors of this researtch. Efforts that can be made to overcome the limited availability of irrigation water in dry land is to use irrigation technology that saves water. This study aims to provide information and make it an alternative for optimal and efficient use of water for agricultural land. The research was carried out from April to August 2022 which is located in Lama Urban village, Hamparan Perak Sub-district, Deli Serdang District. This research was conducted using the observation method and consisted of several stages such as conducting both field studies and journal references then field surveys, design concepts, design drawings, model making to testing and results. The proposed model design combines drip channels with open channels and adopts a circulating irrigation system. Based on the research results, the irrigation water circulation system is able to provide efficient use of water, then based on the calculation results, the canal is able to accommodate a discharge of 7,427 liters/second with channel cross-sectional dimensions of the channel cross section are 0,2 m wide and 0,1 m high, then open channels are able to replace the role of pipes as media to drain water so as to reduce production costs. Keywords: drip irrigation, open channel, circulation. en_US
