Indonesia is an agricultural country that has a large area of land to cultivate crops. However, there are still many problems in ffarming, one of which is irrigation. Weather that often changes makes the soil is cultivated becomes unstable in moisture. For this reason, a solution is considered on how to keep the soil moisture stable according to the type of plant being planted. By utilizing arduino atmega 328p microcontroller technology, an automatic irrigation system can be made by utilizing a soil moisture sensor. Teh sensor can detect the level of soil moisture so that if the soil is too dry, the irrigation will be carried out automatically. The sensor used si YL-39 which is very sensitive to changes in dry and wet soil,this sensor can work at a minium voltage os 5 volts. The YL-39 sensor functions to open and close the irrigation door based on soil conditons. Atmega 328p microcontoller is used to control the whole system. The energy source for the automatic irrigation system is used by a 12 volt DC wind power plant with 20 watt of power to store power in the GM5Z-3B 12 volt 5 Ah battery. To stabilize the voltage from the generator, a buck-bosst converter is used. During 1 week the highest average wind speed measurement is 4,68m/s and the lowest averege wind speed measurement is 0,94m/s.
