In general, storage lockers typically use conventional keys to secure access to the stored items inside. However, this method has weaknesses in terms of security and efficiency. Conventional keys are susceptible to the risks of damage, unauthorized duplication, and even loss during everyday use. To address these issues, the use of more sophisticated and reliable security methods is required. One such method that has been developed is the utilization of One-Time Password (OTP) codes. The results of the conducted research involve the use of ESP32 as the central command for the locker, along with other supporting components such as LCD, keypad, relay, and solenoid door lock. This system includes a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) that provides backup electrical power when the main power source fails. The UPS has an output voltage of 12V and a battery capacity of 12,000 mAh, capable of powering the device for up to 20 hours in case of a power outage. ESP32 can be implemented in storage lockers as a substitute for conventional keys that are prone to damage and loss, thereby enhancing the security when depositing items. Only individuals with the respective OTP code can access the items stored in the storage lockers.
