dc.description.abstract Indonesia is a country whose geographical location is on the line of connection so that Indonesia is one of the countries prone to earthquakes. An earthquake is an activity of the Earth, namely a shift or movement of the crust so that it will have an impact on life that is at the earthquake location. To find out the occurrence of an earthquake. An earthquake detection device is needed. This tool works based on vibration. When the pendulum wobbles, the infrared sensor detects vibrations from the pendulum. After the infrared sensor detects the vibration from the pendulum, the ATmega 8 microcontroller sends data to the buzzer. Until the buzzer sounds. The design of an earthquake alarm system uses components such as the ATmega 8 which functions to process the input signal from the infrared sensor. The output is a buzzer. The infrared sensor functions as a detecting pendulum oscillation. The buzzer serves as a warning sign of an earthquake. At a slope of 1° to the left with a voltage of 0.01, then the logic is 0. If a slope of 2° to the left with a voltage of 4.76, then the logic is 1. With an average sensor voltage of 23.61 V. Test results on the power supply with an average voltage the 7805 is 24.87 V and the average adapter voltage is 60.68 V. The ATmega 8 test results with an average output voltage of 59.45 V. The test results on infrared sensors with an average output voltage are 23.61 V. The test results on the buzzer on voltage 0.01 buzzer condition is not active. At a voltage of 4.89 the buzzer condition is active. At a voltage of 0.57 the buzzer is not active. At a voltage of 4.87 the buzzer condition is active. At a voltage of 0.01 the buzzer is not active.
