dc.description.abstract ABSTRACT Indonesia is an agricultural country which has a large area for farming. Residents have many opportunities to cshoose crops for their livelihoods. However, there are still many problems in farming, one of which is irrigation. The changing weather makes the soil where it is planted is ustable with moisture. For that, think about a solution to how to make the soil moisture stable according to the type of plant being planted. By utilizing electronic tecchnology, an automatic irrigation system can be made by utilizing a digital clock (RTC) and a soil moisture sensor. The digital clock can determine the irrigation schedule automatically and the sensor can detect the moisture level of the soil so that if the soil is too dry, the irrigation will be done automatically. An ATMega8535 microcontroller is used to control the whole system. The result to be achieved is to maintain soil moisture according to the type of plant so that productivity and efficiency can be increased.
